The Sanden Hot Water Heat Pump uses industry-leading technology found in refrigeration and air conditioning units, where energy is drawn in from the ambient atmosphere and transferred into heat. An Ozone friendly refrigerant CO2 (R744) absorbs the heat, which then flows into a compressor where it’s converted into a high-temperature gas. Then, it passes through a condenser within the water tank and the water is heated up. No backup elements are required.
The result is a system that requires radically less electricity to heat water when compared to conventional hot water systems. In fact, the initiative will save up to 80 per cent on a hot water bill, year after year. And no, it doesn’t involve cold showers!
Less energy, less impact on the environment, more savings.
Whisper quiet operation, with industry leading noise level of 38 dB (some brands run at over 60 dB!) - very neighbour friendly!
A high Coefficient of Performance (COP=4.5^) results in significantly reduced energy use and CO2 emissions
Up to 50% faster heat recovery than typical heat pumps In ambient air of 20 ºC it takes approx 4 hours to heat 315 L of water from 17 ºC to 65 ºC
The heating cycle can be managed by the in-built clock which makes it perfect for use with solar power systems.
Fitted with in-built freeze protection, making it suitable for all climates (-10 ºC to +43 ºC)
No backup element required unlike some other heat pump systems which have elements which cut in when the ambient temperature hits 5 ºC

*Price is based on a standard installation using a 15mm Quickie Kit, within 20km of Hobart, accounts for the STC's signed over to Affordable Solar Tasmania.
Price is based on the STC values listed on the Office of Renewable Energy Regulator website on the 5/11/12 & if changed by the Office of the Renewable Energy the price would need to reflect that change.
Variances to the prices above include:
if a 20mm Quickie Kit is required
If a wall bracket is required
Where a cylinder needs to be re-located
Where a power supply needs to be upgraded
